Welcome to First Works Soccer Website
In the Spring of 2014, I felt compelled to share my passion for soccer with kids from low-income communities in order to develop relationships and inspire lives. While starting this venture in my hometown, Douglasville, Georgia, I received a phone call from a school for low income families at the City of Refuge Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. The organization had a soccer team and wanted me to speak to the youth programming director.
That was the start of this amazing journey of Refuge and hope! I soon accepted the position as the Director of Soccer for the City of Refuge. We established a strong relationship with the FCA’s Urban Soccer league and realized it was a perfect fit to join the two programs.
Since our establishment of the FCA’s Urban Soccer league with City of Refuge, we have grown to three teams with over 25 players. Players and parents are very excited about the opportunities that soccer is giving to this community. Our mission is to leave a lasting impact on each child and each family. After two years, we are being led to grow again! We have decided to expand the program beyond the City of Refuge to be able to reach more low-income children and families through the game of soccer.
First Works Soccer was established to increase the outreach through the sport of soccer by developing new teams, improving the quality of soccer skills in our players, and supporting their families. Please join us in this exciting new adventure where we focus on the fundamentals of soccer and life.
